"Thinking about whether something is possible or not before making a decision to do it is completely irrational"
You are in an airplane that's about to crash, the door has been blown away and you don't have a parachute yet. Do you:
A. Jump off the plane as you are
B. Consider your imminent death and search for a parachute before you jump.

"Because until you make the decision, you don’t have a complete set of variables to analyze the problem"
You obtain the complete set of variables to analyze the problem through acquiring information and thinking about them critically. The decision to act doesn't "add any variables" into the mix.

"You can see it only after you have decided to do so."
Then you have some kind of genetic defect, or stroke induced brain malfunction, because most people can plan before acting.

"The decision makes it possible to happen in the first place."
No, your decision to act only opens the door for what you are trying to do. Walking the rest of the road is another matter. Someone might even close the door behind you, forcing you to stay on this road you selected earlier but no longer want.

Honestly, If you're going to be throwing soft-balls all day, don't post. You're making this easier, not harder.

Just a thought on the subject:
Thinking about whether something is possible or not before making a decision to do it is completely irrational.
"@PHeMoX: I also share your opinion. But everything has its limits. As a human, you can’t ignore that you have a body and brain parts that have no consciousness. I also hate to not understand something. Im a rational programmer and philosoph. But it is sometimes better not to spent too much time with thinking on the same thing. It is sometimes not as effective as just let it go. And thats for me being “lucky” as a human: to find the best compromise between thinking and feeling."

I see what you're saying and I agree. Sometimes things aren't quite worth thinking about too much. Definitely true. I also hate not understanding things, but at the same time I'm well aware of my own capabilities. There's a limit to the amount of knowledge one can gather, both physical and mental so to speak, so even if there would be an answer to every question left unanswered for me personally, it's probably not possible to gather all answers even if they exist. I'm aware of all that, but I'm also a relativist and as such I have no problems with those limits.
