Apparently the client on Linux doesn’t work cause it fails to create a video device. I don’t know why cause it’s not my code but Irrlicht. I’m fed up with Linux development for now. The server works and I want to release the alpha badly to public. I think it has everything an alpha version should have now.

Damn. I was hoping to be able to try it out on my (outdated) laptop. Have you tried compiling the Irrlicht examples on linux? Do other 3D accelerated programs work?
You need to install the graphics drivers MANUALLY to get 3D acceleration to work.
(“manually” means just download the executable, kill X server, and let the automatic installer do everything)
Just release an alpha, so we can see how the game is going so far.
Better yet, release with Linux binaries and hope that the code is correct but your system isn’t. 😉
Take the time you need, and release the Alpha when you think, that it would be a good moment to release it.
alpha yay!
Release nowwwww!!!!!+!
Good to hear!
And now Michał, a random question. Are you going to be the only one working on the interfaces, menus, et cetera?
I personally love straightforward graphics…

…so I hope a lot of time will be put into the functionality of the interface, both in-game and the menus. I am aware, of course, that this all comes near the end, but it’s a good idea to get started on it when you get to the heavy gameplay development. Comprehensible interfaces pull the whole game together, so doing this while you’re doing gameplay stuff would probably be very satisfying.
(i reposted this from an old posting of yours. i figured i probably wouldn’t get a response unless i responded to your most recent posting. sorry about the redundancy)
ah no.. im waiting for so long and now where u gonna release it my pc crashed and im on an outdated laptop pff…
Ah, I love watching you be so impatient!
Please take your time MM.
niko: the interface is the simplest and most straightforward gui I could think of.
MM … got to look at this gore… not my type of game but when i saw the dude upper half stringed to the lower half by the intestins I thought of link dead.
