“For a hundred years, how many people tried and how many people have lost their lives? Do you know how many people never came back? Not even their dead bodies came back; they got lost, lost forever. But, still, a few courageous people went on and on….. …But people went on coming from all over the world, risking, knowing that they may not come back ever, they may be lost. But it is worth it — because in the very risk something is born inside you: the center. It is born only in the risk. That’s the beauty of risk, the gift of risk.” Osho
Do you think the people who were trying to reach to the Everest were not full of doubts?

what the fuck
Fuck: i must say you’re becoming quite the master of timing.
LOL.
FUCK: What the shit?
Then, you are lost in a big mountain made of codes that could take your life away and forsake your soul out there?
Or you have some dude which had said to you that if you don’t finish the game you will be dead,so the game programming is a big Risk in this mother fucking life?
wow, my english sucks so much.

When on mount everest, coding seems like such a trivial and relaxing task. Sitting by your desk with music playing, a mug of hot coffee on the side and lines of beautiful code flowing from your fingertips.
When coding, climbing mount everest seems like such a simple and intuitive task. You’re in a team that won’t abandon you regardless of deadlines. Your client won’t call you half-way to the top and inform you that he decided you need to climb K2 instead, and he expects you to be there sooner, as K2 is shorter and you’re on half the altitude already. You don’t need to worry about design patterns, mysterious bugs, memory leaks. It’s as simple as putting one foot after another.
Solution? Take laptop and code while climbing.
Hahaha, diego lemos and archont, u both rock 😉
that’s so true Archont. that’s the perfect explanation.
I’m sure that everybody can go and climb that tiny and childish mountain. For me, I prefer to code, it’s more risky and satisfactory.
at least you don’t have to feel all that stupid cold or the simple amputation of your extremities.
Codifying is less painful and more Funny.
You have your computer and you can make your world, like god itself.
IN YOUR FACE EVEREST!!!!
MM , I saw someone had Osho as toilet-reading , please stop this Osho nonsense , you need to work until capilary veins on your eyeballs burst .
The Everest guys have totally different training and risks , the comparison is wrong on multiple orders of magnitude.
As a programmer you need to code hard day by day by day.
Faith is in me , brothers. He’ll finish the game. he’s like blizzard.

This piece of text must not be related to programming, but it can if you want. There is a relationship between everything if you think deep enough (This is part of my life philosophy). Writing code can be mentally exhausting like climbing a rock. The more far you get, the more harder it is to stop. You take risk that you wont finish your task or you get finished and don’t get the desired result.
I heard another intersting question some time ago, it sound something like this: “Do you think people like Einstein, Mozart and other “genius” people has special capabilities?” I think the general answer is “no, they just work their ass off to do one thing best, over and over again”.
Yeah Mt Everest
Yeah yeah Edmund Hillary yeah first guy
Yeah
Yeah New Zealand
Yeah awesomeness
Yeaaahhh.
listen to the wise words of Chutem!

I know it is based on 3D engine but some tricks may be used even in Link-Dead. It would be great
Lol wtf Osho. My mom reads Osho in large quantities. Kinda seemed funny to me now that I read it here.
But still, good point is a good point, I agree with that text.
many ideologies and worldviews avoid suffering and consider it evil or use it to enforce moral code… but it is best to embrace it if you are striving to rise higher in your life. gaining strength from suffering is a wonderful thing and one of the biggest and most under appretiated miracles of nature for us humans.
and climbing mountains is great metaphor.
Maybe he’s trying to say that a level in Link-Dead will be in the Everest or a game mode: climb the fucking mountain.
He’s only trying to entertain us with that thinking thing so we don’t ask when the game is done all the time.
or maybe popcorn
So then, when IS the game done?
