    Today I’m rewriting the pickup item code to incorporate picking stuff from the ground, so that you can pickup a grenade and throw it back!

    7. Would also be awesome if the grenade would explode when shot at, even(and especially) in mid-air, when the player throws it at you and you shoot it and he gets the damage, or in the player’s hand when he starts flicking it your way.


    8. I think it wouldn’t be too fun gameplay-wise, just imagine the frustration when 8 out of 10 nades explode at yourself. Real men shoot the enemy before he has a chance to throw the grenade.

      Besides, having a bullet to actually pierce through the typical ~1.5mm shell requires direct hit, perpendicularly to the surface. Also, typical RDX based HE grenades will not explode upon bullet impact, they require detonator. While we are at the topic, being any closer than 30-50 meters to the explosion will most likely get yourself wounded, or better yet, dead.


    9. I think it’s a great idea. At the moment, every enemy grenade just makes a player run away and avoid it. No room for agressive replies here. So throwing back a nade would fix that. Make sure it doesn’t become a hot potatoe game though. Not every 8 out of 10 nades should be meant to be thrown back.

      I can easily see this being smoothly incorporated into the game. Yes, some new tactics, but the same great Soldat will still be there.

    13. @Tenshi: It’s about being able to shoot the genades, not about throwing them back. Is it conveinient to adjust the timer in such way that people have chance to throw the grenade back? If the timer is set too low, the feature is useless. However, if the timer is set high enough to allow this, then grenades become less crucial from gameplay perspective, again rendering this feature less useful.

      @Rayza: Then you’re fucked. :) Hopefully you throw it from behind a cover though, right? But actually to shoot at a grenade.. You would have to expose your upper body, hands and head.


    14. And if somebody dropped a chainsaw, can I pick up that saw and throw it back?

      Always wanted to be able to throw chainsaw like a knife in Soldat.

      I was thinking of letting the player throw everything at a distance. So if a team member got out of ammo you throw him a gun or clip from the other end of the screen.


    17. Or you you run out of ammo, you throw your gun in the enemy’s face while you pull out the other gun ๐Ÿ˜€
