    I just made in-game video recording! Awesome article, copy-paste stuff.  It uses ogg theora compression which is awfully slow, I’m looking for an alternative. Also the article doesn’t explain recording sound. But it does explain how to upload directly to Youtube which would be fantastic!

    1. I think the Source engine (Half-Life 2, etc.) uses some kind of post-processing for video capture. My guess is that it ‘records’ the state of the game and then renders it when the video is needed. This allows for high-quality videos (or whatever setting is needed) even though you played in low-quality.

      Don’t take my word, though. I barely know about this stuff.

    3. I think you could look how it’s done in Warsow for example.

      And yeah, I also agree with the first post. There should be demos (like in Quake or Unreal games).
