Normally when you fire an automatic weapon you have to deal all the time with big recoil. To compensate that you can use a bipod to place it in a firm position. I haven’t yet done a bipod attachment but what I did is resting the gun (is that the proper term?). You can just put the gun against a window frame, barrel or any other object at shoulder height. This pretty much eliminates recoil. Take a look at the picture:
Just place the gun on a horizontal obstacle and the gun “locks”. The circle cursor indicates that the gun is resting. This seems pretty cool now, but we’ll see how it plays when this version is released. I’m currently wrapping everything up and I hope to have everything ready at the end of the week. I encourage anyone that hasn’t payed and downloaded the LD Alpha yet, because this is a one-time opportunity to participate actively in the development of the game (before the beta is finished). Working with a team of fans is much more fun than doing this game alone. So if you have cool ideas, c’mon!
Nice “bipod” ! I loved it in red orchestra, i’m sure its great in LD too.
Great to hear the new version is coming soon… This was a long one; No doubt it will be a game changer.
This is a nice addition to the game. Cant wait to test the new version!
I will have more free time to play next month!
so, when the gun is in this “resting”-position – are you still able to look around, to aim? or is it fixed to some small range?
and of course only enable this feature for bigger weapons not for small pistols e.g.

It does not range your movement in any way. If you move away from the resting position it just “unlocks”.

Of course pistols have smaller recoil so there is no need for it but I don’t see why I should disable it for pistols. In real life you would rest a pistol also.
This will come in handy when your arms are hurt and you can’t shoot straight without resting your gun.
are all of the mutants this gaudy and brightly saturated? he looks like the embodiment of chinese new year.
also, is this the standard zoom level in game? it’s a little close.
The screenshot is definetly zoomed in.
Really looking forward to finding out what the game has become.
Has the medkit dysfunctionality been fixed?
I request additional z-index space, to hide in. Imagine some special areas, where our hero can hide in ( dark, shadowed or not. Sprite become darkened, and is resistant to bullets ( or probability of being hit strongly decrease ). When hiding in shadow, hero cannot shot or take any additional action, maybe except arming grenade, but can throw only after comming out. Described idea can be found in old game called Black Thorne (1994). You can check the gameplay on youtube. Another feature I suppose to find in the game is being able to lie down. I want to make me look like a dead corpse. Another thing is that laser light should become somehow aplified ( like a lightsabre maybe ?) when interrupted by object in the client area. Current display make it almost useless, and when mutant passes laser line, it is hard to observe ( line is 1 px thin ).
