The release seems pretty good, as predicted. There aren’t any major bugs except the one that people can’t start the game when it crashes on “Creating map edges”. Got a list of 20 or so bugs which I’ll be fixing in the upcoming days. Stay tuned, the auto-updater should fetch the fixes.
Things that are not bugs, I left them intentionally, please don’t post them:
-Falling off map.
-Zooming and glitches because of it
-Picking up player
The bug tracker is working very well. It’s an awesome feature from my point of view. If I would ever make a single player game this is definitely a tool to use. For example players can pinpoint the exact location on a map where they get stuck.
Some systems get slow FPS. Video cards like:
Nvidia 6200 turbocache
Intel 965/963
GeForce 8500
S3 Graphics Chrome9 HC
GeForce 9200M
To fix this temporarily open Base/Scripts/world.gm and remove or comment the hanginglights. If that doesn’t work comment everything except mapAddRespawn(). I have to optimize the lights more.
There are cards which produce errors in display like:
RADEON X1600 PRO – if you have this card please check if the console gives any red shader compilation errors (scroll up with page up)
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570; ATI Radeon HD 4800 – very bad cause doesn’t render lights at all
Wee… I don’t know if I should be happy that my laptop card doesn’t render lights at all but at least it was spotted. It’s really good thing to have bug report system like this one. Gj, MM 😀 Ah, and it was ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650 (1024 MB,core:550 MHz, memory:700 MHz,GDDR3) so maybe genarally LD has problems with mobile stuff?

Michal, my I ask you about that jumping I’ve reported? Do you consider it as a bug? Because for me this gostek really jumps way to high… and it doesn’t look realistic. Just would like to know..

ID: realistic jumping is not that fun. Remember that these are super soldiers with bio-suits that help them in movements.

I liked it more then expected, the feeling of controls is really like some old video game. I think the jump leap is a bit big and weird though, love to have a bit more control over my movement. Still decent stuff. I had some black lines crossing my screen randomly though. I cannot make a screen shot of it since they just flicker. Also at 1 point there seems to be some issue with the light from the flashlight. It shows a black line over the textures but disappears in a few. Also some texture loading errors in the console but I am not sure if these are intentionally. Do you get a report from the console window as well when we add a bug report?

– can you post a changelog?
– I think this updater is much better than the one for Soldat – could you talk with EnEsCe about this?
(I mean the idea: check a txt-file with version-number to see if theirs an update, in another txt-file there are the files which should be updated, only download and overwrite these)
Today and try the game again to see if it worked, is to upgrade just made and when completed the new error was game.dll.
Does anyone care to last the same and to fixed? Can you help?
When game upgrated the window ld.exe get close and when i retry to run, again upgrade..again and again… but where game?help

While updating:
error downloading map9.png.tmp (First time only)
rename failed ld.exe and libcurl.dll
Then it can’t find some files and ld.exe crashes. (this must be ’cause it couldn’t replace those two files)
I’ve just tried to rename ld.exe.tmp and libcurl.dll.tmp and it works 😀
Yesterday I was experiencing an graphics bug where there was a very annoying flicker in full-screen mode. I am running Windows 7 and have a GForce GTX 260M video card. After modifying Base\Scripts\autoconfig.gm and setting v_fullscreen = 0, this issue went away and the game played flawlessly.
Unfortunately after the update, I get the same issue as Cremator. The tech demo downloads the file updates and shows the game window, but only to crash immediately. When I start LD.exe again it will repeat this scenario and I am unable to play the game at all.
If I rename LD.exe.tmp to LD.exe, the tech demo will run fine. It looks like there was a glitch with the update, because if I download the post-release demo in it’s entirety the game runs alright.
Oh, I’ve done some basic tests with modifying script files. I’m sure MM already knows this, but it looks like multiplayer is functional in the tech demo.

No all ready have the 2nd download and the “major update” of today and still i cant even open it, when i click the LD.exe it always crashes before even seen the menu
