I’m struggling with one annoying network bug for a few days. Net bugs are hardest to catch. I’m doing the same in Soldat now, so it’s double frustrating. Nothing more to say from me. Sigvatr is making tons of tilesets for the mapmaker.

Hi.
I remember reading an article linked off GameDev; where the Age of Empires devs had problems with their networking code too.
So what they did was implement demo recording (I think by capturing and replaying network packets), which allowed them to replay the demo at a later date to try and catch the bug instead of missing it.
Maybe that can help!
Good to hear you still have take care of Soldat. I assume it’s about latest EnEsCe’s headache – weapon dropping bug.
hey MM, do you have a new mapmaker software now??
“I assume it’s about latest EnEsCe’s headache – weapon dropping bug.”
No, it’s about the more pressing issue than that – eating,
Interesting… A little more detail would be even more interesting, about what are the most common places bugs appear.
im more interested about the new mapmaker and who made it..
😛
sucess
if the graphics will look better then the one you showed us some time ago.. so, man, i cant even imagine whats coming.
I like these constant update reports. Keep ’em coming MM.
You have no idea how awesome the graphics are looking. It is the best looking 2D game ever made.
\o/
How about music composer? Do your team have any?
I thought eating equaled lag…which is impossible to remove.
Michal does music I believe
“I thought eating equaled lag…which is impossible to remove.”
There’s lag, and then there’s packet loss. Soldat suffers from both.
I hope you get along with LD bugs. However at least the dropbug has been solved so you have less problems with that. Take it easy.

Even if its not sigvatr saying that, il fkin second that statement!
keep it rolling!
there’s absolutely no doubt about that, from what we’ve seen so far, it’s already the best, and it still gets improved!
great jobs transhuman
more tilesets, excellent.
I am developing the map editor as we speak, its called DEADITOR.
A little background on its functionality, its capable of making maps in two ways, either by using a series of large sized images representing each layer, or by composing each layer out of tiles. (or a combination of both). So you’ll be able to make maps in an image editor, make your own tiles, or use pre-made tiles, Sigvatr is working on some.
Hopefully it will be released before the game is out . I’m about ready to give it to Sigvatr for testing already.
gheft: well, if you really are the guy who’s developing the mapeditor, can you tell how much finished is it and share some pictures about the editor with us?
anyway, isnt the old mapeditor already capable of doing maps these ways?
That is gheft, don’t show them anything yet.
i agree, wait until MM has a game running.
but Sigvatr, cant you guys hold some kind of contest for the maps in the game when you got the game running?
just some idea.
this blog should have registration to avoid impostors.I never know who is talking, =/
even though i suck cock.

and avoid these guys.
I want to have 4 maps ready for the private beta testing made by myself and hopefully at that point start having private beta testers prepare maps for the final release of the game.
Nice sigvatr.
btw. where is your blog? i used to acess it from the link here in this blog.. but it disapeared..
yes, I am developing the editor wait and see. It’s coming along nicely, needs work rendering most of MMs effects(fog, normals etc..) and finalizing the file format. interface is mostly finished.
and no, the current editor doesn’t work this way.
gheft: is it easy to use ? how much time to develop a normal map?
sucess! 😀

With this camera, you can make photos in maximum resolution of 5616 x 3744 pixels, but for those of you who would prefer it resolutions of 4992 x 3328, 4080 x 2720 and 2784 x 1856 can be used. If you select RAW plus Fine JPEG, it shows 354 shots available.
