    Biggest changes or additions in a nutshell:

    I never liked the idea that Ubermen look like sprites, they wear metal armor so it should look like metal. So I added a chrome shader that reflects the surrounding in their armor and guns. I added light flares and generally improved the pseudo-HDR effects. Explosions should be more spectacular now.

    Most important gameplay balance change is reducing Ubermen armor by 50% and making the Mutant guns slightly more powerful. It seems everybody was complaining about the Ubers being too powerful so we played a match with this balance and it was much more fun.

    Big tweaks in game pie menus, they should be more accessible now. More ideas on improving them are appreciated.

    Added air control. It seems games can’t live without this. It is much easier now to jump and grab what you want.

    The game on my machine is now about 20% faster. Also there are a lot of changes in the visuals for lower graphic settings. It should look much better.

    A lot of crashes were fixed, one of them, I can tell you now was caused by typing “%s” in the chat :).

    If you have the problem with the game being totally dark please try setting now in the main menu Hack->Video->Preset->Optimal and then set Hack->Video->Advanced->Compatibility mode and RESTART the game. If that doesn’t work please let me know and then set Hack->Video->Preset->Minimalist preset to make it work on lower settings.

    – added chrome Ubermen shader effect

    – added low-resolution parallax maps for low and minimalist preset

    – fixed white artifact on cloak

    – added lens flares to all lights

    – improved flashlight look

    – fixed after light glow dissapearing with light gone

    – improved grenade light

    – fixed grenade light shadows

    – lights now go directly through platforms and stairs

    – map is now preloaded before connecting to prevent timeout

    – added gamma brightness/contrast settings (todo: add sliders for these)

    – removed console variables from menu

    – added video compatibility mode to fix ATi card issues

    – massive optimization of many lights

    – minimalist render draws basic lights w/o shadows

    – added “perfect fullscreen lighting” option (experimental)

    – main menu appears in fixed position on start

    – added “Press ESC to open menu” text

    – pie menus have larger radius

    – pie menus can scroll

    – pie menu back pies don’t draw

    – pie menu doesn’t have an outer limit now

    – pie menu automatically repositions to fit screen bounds

    – effects stop computing and rendering when framerate drops

    – fixed drill sound playing after death

    – bouncing bomb now bounces a lot more

    – added render map help lines option

    – players that aren’t spawned are drawn gray in scoreboard

    – movement speed & crouch can be toggled while climbing now too

    – fixed some bugs that happened with game time and units on join

    – fixed kill being assigned to a player on suicide or death fall

    – fixed wrong self-mutilation assignment on grenade kill

    – added disconnected and connecting texts

    – fixed crash on player trying to spawn when no units left

    – fixed crash on sending chat with % (todo: make it display % instead of removing)

    – disabled specific part patching

    – fixed bullethit_metal.ogg sound not found

    – fixed sound file variation function (limb_severed5.ogg not found)

    – changed kill messages

    – parallax map always uses fixed size now (speed optimization)

    – added max wobbliness (so gun doesn’t go up and down too much)

    – changed menu colors to neutral grey

    – added air control

    – fixed linux server not asking for restart after exe updated

    – increased units count multiplier for both teams (MM 7, UM 5)

    – match time is lower by 10%

    3. MM: A complaint I had after only playing the game for literally 2 minutes: When I joined a game I was daunted with having to select my kits, guns, ammo, etc.

      A list of starting pre-sets would be great.


    4. Great update MM. My ATI card looks to be working properly with the game now! Also really digging the UI improvements. I wish there were more people online to play with!

      Also I wondered could you turn the halo around the player off when stealth gear is on: the name is enough to know where im at and it would be easier to see how stealth I really am.

      Oh, I’m also hard at work with your GREAT editor. And I would like to know if you could remove the bug that leave a respawn menu after you playtested the map in the editor. Not a big problem but would look awesomer !!!

    16. yay, stunning! the graphics look really great now, especially the nades of MM! this game really becomes better and better and this was a big step!
      and btw justforfun: select as many bouncy nades as you can and through them around – funny like shit! 😀

      you game looks great i bought the Beta access and downloaded it but…… i cant play it :(
      i start the game then the game does the update.
      i restart it and then i have a black scrren with your name in the right corner.(i think this is the Intro)
      than i press esc. and iam coming to a screen with nice artwork :)i pressing esc. again and the main menue opends but the green mouse thing dosent move….. andone and only the esc. and Ö key works…
      (btw iam german and i dont know an Ö exist one some boards too)

      Oh and i cant sign in in the forum….. becouse i dosent resive mails. -.-

      the backgrounds move (like a tide ?!?) and sound playes too
      and the ö key makes that a command box pop up if i press the key again the command box dissapear

    26. MM, I want to make some maps but I won’t pay for beta (or even alpha?) game. What now? Will you say “GTFO”? Or maybe it’s possible to get only map editor (without paying)?

    27. MM is not asking for much. It is by donation. The test version is certainly worth it.

      Although I can see this being a problem for people who do not have a way to pay, the donations will enable MM to dedicate more time and therefore release faster.
