When creating this context menu for GUI I had these things in mind:
speed of creation (shouldn’t take more lines of code to create the menu than the menu has items)
ease of creation (very simple interface that will be handed to mod-developers to create custom game menus)
automatization (don’t do what a computer can do for you; in the preview below you can see that I add all console variables to the menu – automatically)

    1. Worst. Menu. Ever.

    2. Simple. Structured. Good.

    3. looks ok, dunno what it takes to make it , you say it’s fast so great but it’s really ugly. good for as a placeholder. also having a server browser like that is not too convenient.. so what about the anims progress?

ander, basic, i think MM, or somebody will create a design for this basic menu.

    5. I see where this is going and I like it.

      Also, here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=baoS-pOt_Bo&feature=related

That’s a video of a project called BadGame as I was telling you in a comment on your last topic. The above video is one of 5 videos of the game and shows a five player online deathmatch. I dunno what happened to the project. It seems like development has stopped, which is sad considering, it is already so far along. Some more artwork, weapons and tweaking and the game would be good enough to be released. Then like Soldat, give out a map maker as well. Oh well.

    6. Just wanted to add (and sorry, I know wrong topic for this). In the video, notice the parallax multilayered background, wall-jumping and even fans to boost players upwards. Man that project had some potential.

    7. Snow: now that’s a Soldat clone! 😀 The bullets and sniper line have the same graphic.
Some people don’t have the guts to finish a project.

    8. Well I wrong (which in this case is a good thing), it’s still being developed… albeit slowly. I want to see this finished… still will never be any less of a fan of Soldat of course. Here is a new video from September: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VOZcKkUE2_4

      crimson glory, r , berserker

    10. One question, when will it be completed Link-Dead, more or less so it can be downloaded and played? (a beta)

    11. Being a Fluxbox user, I love the menus. 😉

    12. mman: some people don’t have the guts to acknowledge what they are doing is shit and stop doing it.

Sinpol: First release by the end of the year.

I do think this looks great! Do you have to scroll back up after scrolling down a long server list to access the ‘top level’ menu choice? Would be nice if they dynamically moved down. Possibly just over-complicated but just a thought!

    14. Will It Be Skinable???

    15. Vectorious

      I agree with m!nus.

      Keep it.

    16. Hmm, wouldn’t it be possible to make the server list “go up” when you hold your cursor over it and scroll? Instead of scrolling the whole menu away from the screen.

    17. mm: some people just give up ;p

    18. SplinterSnake

When I look at that menu, I imagine a very brief sound played each time you hover your mouse over an option.

    19. It looks like diarrhea with blood and pieces of food smeared over white underpants with the hairy buttocks of an overweight unwashing gypsy grandfather alcoholic.

Which means considerably better than your usual!

//mman: some people don’t have the guts to acknowledge what they are doing is shit and stop doing it.

      You know it’s true.

    20. //- automatization (don’t do what a computer can do for you; in the preview below you can see that I add all console variables to the menu – automatically)

Writing g_debug to console is 5-1200 times faster than searching for it from a GUI menu and trying to aim at it with mouse & clicking.

    21. God, who the hell wants to use typing in a console?? Get lost, Linux geeks.

    22. Tenshi: nice burn : D . Or, in the words of the alom praised actor: BUUUUUURRRRRRRRN
